Continuous Learning and Activity Portal for Ganga (www.clap4ganga.com) is designed as an awareness and outreach initiative by National Mission for Clean Ganga, funded by World Bank and executed by TREE Craze Foundation, with an intention to connect more and more people especially the youth and the children to own up our rivers.
It is an interactive platform that is working towards initiating conversations and actions around the rivers in India, the environment, while motivating and recognizing individual actions, group actions, and actions at community level. The portal also offers a space to facilitate debates and discussions, allowing for expression of ideas about various river related issues. Furthermore, CLAP4Ganga acts as a platform through which people can learn about conservation efforts happening around them and ways to volunteer or contribute for the same.
The portal was launched during the opening ceremony of Ganga Utsav on 1st November 2021 under the august presence of Honorable Minister of Jal Shakti, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Secretary of Ministry of Jal Shakti, Shri Pankaj Kumar; and, Director General of National Mission for Clean Ganga, Shri G. Ashok Kumar.
“CLAP4Ganga.com is not just FOR the people but BY the people.”
It is the users who contribute towards building this portal by creating and sharing their content, suggestions for anything they feel should be discussed regarding the environment, and sharing and discussing the content and activities with their friends, family and building a community of people who want to contribute towards the cause.
The portal has been arranged as different sections to make navigation user friendly. These sections are focused on motivating the users to learn, play, enjoy and do something new and eco-friendly thereby contributing and volunteering in whatever way possible to preserve our rivers and our environment. The sections are further sub-divided into various subject-based themes to make the portal navigation user-friendly.
