Partnering with HCL Foundation for HARIT Schools

TREE Craze Foundation (TCF) in collaboration with HCL Foundation is launching a new project “Integrated Environmental Education programme across 5 government schools in Noida to co-create a learning habitat out of the school campuses” under HCL’s Harit initiative. Our goal with this programme is to establish a network of environmentally friendly government schools (Harit schools) in Noida that will serve as a model for eco-friendly practises and initiatives that are integrated into experiential and location-based environmental teaching in classrooms. TCF will work to better integrate environmental education into the school curriculum, as well as encourage students to transform select 5 model schools as Harit schools.

The project is based on 3 guiding principles:

• Dissemination of information to foster environmental understanding.

• Helping learners apply environmental skills.

• Encourage students to adopt sustainable behaviours.

This will be done through participatory, interactive and self-driven approaches as well as experiential learning (formal and informal).
